Kep 2022 Update. The borders are open nd folks are on the move again. The big news is that during COVID Kompong Cham's favourite restauranteurs have shut the Moustache restaurant, moved to Kampot, opened a new restaurant, and celebrated their first anniversary. Monkey Jim will be back in Kampot and Kep early in 2023, so look for the updates here.

Everybody needs to go to the crab statue to view the sunset. It's a short drive around the point from Kep Beach. You can continue on a couple more km to Kep Town which has guesthouses and restaurants.

Sunset at Rabbit Island Jetty Cambodia
Sunset from the Rabbit Island Jetty. These are the wooden boats that take you to Rabbit Island. Located midway between the beach and Kep Town, the Rabbit Island Jetty Restaurant is right on the seaside for a cool breeze, and has bar snacks, Khmer food and cold beer at reasonable prices. You can continue on a couple more km to Kep Town which has more guesthouses and restaurants.

Reasonably priced bungalows run by a French couple, with a lovely pool. Located on the side road just before the Kep Crab Market turnoff, as you arrive from Kampot. A very long walk from Kep Beach and Kep Town but only 10 mins from the Kep Crab Market. The restaurant serves French and Khmer cuisine, and has bar snacks, Khmer food and cold beer at reasonable prices. Its about 5 km before Kep Town which has more guesthouses and restaurants.

A COLD BEER AT RUSTY GUESTHOUSE
Rusty Guesthouse in Kep Cambodia,
It's hot outside so a cold beer under the thatched roof at Rusty's. It's at the very far eastern end of Kep Town. Cheap hippie bungalows run by some laid back dudes. Located on a side road back from the main highway. Close to Kep Town, the restaurant serves a mixture of western and khmer food and it's pretty damn good. Hang if if you're a bike riding grubby backpacker, or just someone who needs the basics and doesn't want to blow a lot of dough.
